Michael leaves behind his beloved wife Louise and his three children and their spouses and families whom he cherished. Susan and James Duncan, Shirley and Todd Frederick, and Michael Jr and Gina Silvester. Also, his grandchildren James (Megan) Duncan, Rachel (Billy) Griffin III, Casey Flanigan, Jacob and Daniel Silvester, Tyler and Ana Frederick. And great grandchildren Zoey and Mattias Duncan and Billy Griffin IV. Michael was predeceased by his siblings Shirley, Violet, James and William. He also cherished the friends from his childhood and those he made at Brainard Airport in Hartford. Services will be private with a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Michael was a friend and a source of great advice for myself over the past 30 years, I used to keep his aircraft clean for him and he would come to the hangar and ask me how I'm doing with everything life has to throw at a person 30 years younger than himself, because he knew my dad had passed when I was only 15yrs. Old.
He would always give me fatherly advice and for that, I would always go the extra lil bit on his airplane.
I will truly miss him like a father......
