Michael passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023, in Mentor.
Born Nov. 16, 1953, in Texas City, Texas, he had lived in Houston before moving to Lake County 29 years ago.
He was a Cleveland Indians baseball fan, an avid golfer, loved good wine, Mexican food and ice cream, but most of all Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Skinner had worked for more than 30 years at the Lubrizol Corporation.
Michael was the loving father of Erin Stricker of Painesville; dear brother of Zana (Richard) Blakely of Houston, Texas, VADM Walter Mark Skinner, USN Ret. of Falls Church, Va.; and the cherished uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Doris (nee Myers) Skinner; parents, Zane and Mary Ann (nee Peterson) Skinner; and brother, 2nd Lt. Martin Andrew Skinner, USAF.
A celebration of life gathering and refreshments will follow the Mass at St. Gabriel Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Humane Society, Lifebanc, or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
