Michael P. Suver
Michael Paul Suver, a dedicated engineer and passionate train enthusiast, departed this life on August 22, 2025, at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was born on June 14, 1955, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to the late Paul Suver and Patricia Routh Suver.
Michael's professional journey began as an engineer at Michael Burns Manufacturing, where he spent 40 years horning his skills and contributed significantly to the industry. He later joined BMW, where he continued to apply his expertise, earning the respect of his colleagues and making a lasting impact throughout his career.
Beyond his professional life, Michael was known for his deep and abiding love for trains and his grandkids and great-grandkids. His passion for railroads and all things related brought him joy and satisfaction, enriching his life and allowing him to connect with others who shared similar interests.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Cora Hayes Suver. He leaves behind a family that cherished him dearly, including his daughter Patricia Patterson (Kevin); his brothers; Tim Suver, Tom Suver, Andrew Suver, his sisters Nancy Miller, Mary Rich (Robert), Kathy Hermlich (Clifford), Lisa Suver, and Melissa Pasnanelli (Mike), Chris Ernest (Fred), Joe Young (Tim). He was also a proud grandfather to Brandon Shaffer (Courtney), Jimmy Curry (Maddi), Kelsey Patterson, and Alasia Pifher, and a treasured great-grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Suver, whose memory remained in the hearts of those who loved him.
A celebration of life will be held 1:00p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025 at K.P. and Patty’s home.
Michael Paul Suver leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family love, and a passion for trains that all those who knew him will remember fondly. His gentle spirit and dedication to his family will be missed deeply by all who had the privilege to know him.
