Michael Philip Tafoya, age 64, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on October 28, 2024. Born on October 24, 1960, Michael lived a life full of laughter, love, and dedication to his family.
A proud graduate of Mapleton High School, Class of 1979, Michael went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Known for his incredible sense of humor, Michael had a natural gift for brightening any room with his quick wit and infectious laughter. He was a devoted husband to Donna, a loving father to his children, and a proud grandfather to his many grandchildren.
Michael’s passions included cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos, spending peaceful days fishing, and creating lasting memories on family vacations. His warmth, loyalty, and humor leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his mother, Rosalie Tafoya; his wife, Donna Tafoya; his children, Dominic Tafoya (Lucero), Mikala Tafoya, Aubree Tafoya, Aranza Esquibel-Ortega (Mike), and Justin Madrid (Shontae); his brother, Manuel Tafoya (Donna); and his cherished grandchildren: Vida, Trinity, Maseio, Max, Aspen, Gionni, Jaedon, Selena, and Seilah. He is preceded in death by his father, Phil Tafoya.
Services to honor Michael’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, as follows:
Rosary at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, located at 1843 West 52nd Avenue, Denver, CO 80221, from 12:00 to 12:20 p.m.Funeral Mass immediately following, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.Interment Service at Fort Logan National Cemetery, meeting at Stage C, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, CO 80236, starting at 2:45 p.m.Reception at Lakewood Event Center, located at 7864 W Jewell Ave, Lakewood, CO 80232, from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
