Michael "Pops" Frank Tamburrino, 82, of Naperville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
Born on Chicago's North Side to Frank and Bernice (Markert) Tamburrino, Mike grew up with a big heart and love for his hometown teams the Cubs and the Bears.
In 1966, he married his beloved wife, Patricia (Fidago) Tamburrino. Together they built a home in Oak Park raising three children who adored him and learned from his quiet strength, steady patience, and love of life's simple joys.
Mike worked as a Manufacturing Engineer, retiring at 66, but his real passion was the life he built outside of work - fishing trips, kids' sporting events, golfing, cheering on his teams, and time with family and friends.
More than anything, Mike loved being "Pops." His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he never missed a chance to watch a game, listen to a concert, or learn something new (like rugby!) just to be part of their world. Every road trip, every fishing line cast, every story told was really about what mattered most to him - time together.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; his children Steven (Heather) Tamburrino, Christopher (Amy) Tamburrino, and Julie (Mark) Seeger; and his beloved grandchildren Dillon Tamburrino, Zackary (Haley) Tamburrino, Drew Kilcullen, Andrew Seeger, Charlotte Seeger, and Jillian Seeger. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary (Michael) Maloney; his lifelong friend, Lou (Virginia) Hentschel; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were lucky to know him.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Frank, Fred, and Dennis Tamburrino.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Drive, Naperville. Interment will be private.
Pops will be remembered for his easy-going, loving personality and the way he showed up for the people he loved. His presence made every gathering brighter and every memory sweeter.
