Michele "Micki" Blazek

Michele (Micki) Blazek, age 72 of Albuquerque, New Mexico (originally from Hammond, IN), passed away unexpectedly on July 24, 2025, from lung issues.

She is survived by her stepson, Alan Blazek and stepdaughter Jill (Rey) Rael; two sisters, Maureen Wagner (Mark Ulmer) and Kathleen (Richard) Rosinski; and grandchildren Addison and Riley Rael; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Patricia McGlinchy.

Friends are invited to meet for a church service/reception on Tuesday, August 5, at 10:30am at X Factor Church, 3023 Montclaire Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Pastor Vince Carrillo will be officiating.

Michele was a 1970 graduate of Hammond Clark HS in Hammond, IN. She completed her bachelor's and master's degrees at Purdue University Calumet Campus in Hammond. She earned her doctorate degree in Accounting at Arizona State University. She taught Accounting at Purdue University Calumet, Arizona State University, and the University of Las Vegas. She went on to become a Chief Financial Officer at a hospital in Pasadena, CA before she retired.

Michele's faith was very important to her. She served as a bible study teacher and greeter at Sagebrush Church in Albuquerque for many years, went to Bible Study Fellowship, and had recently joined X Factor Church.

When she was not busy serving, she enjoyed reading books, playing cards, and studying scripture. Her greatest joy, apart from her faith, was her family, particularly her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and many current as well as lifelong friends.

A memorial service will also be provided in Indiana in late August.
