It is with shattered hearts that we announce the passing of Randy "Condor" Blazek on Wednesday June 25th at home surrounded by his family.
Randy was born October 5, 1962, to Anton J & Lavern (Rochester) Blazek. Randy grew up in the Merrillan area and was a 1981 graduate of Lincoln High School in Alma Center.
After high school Randy attended CVTC and received a certificate in Auto Body. He held a few various jobs; service station attendant, bartender, farm hand, laborer before starting his employment with Badger Mining Corporation – Taylor Plant on July 12, 1989. He held many different positions during his employment, the latest being a rail load out operator.
Randy met his lifetime love, Vickie (Shramek) in June of 1984 at a softball game. They were married July 27, 1985.
In their union they were blessed with two amazing daughters, Amanda and Jennifer. Family was everything, you would rarely see them without their children, and then later with their grandchildren. He was extremely proud of his girls and the adults they had become. His love of ball is shown through his girls and grandchildren as they are all ball players. He taught them you had to work hard to be good, but most of all enjoy the game.
Randy was a hardworking and giving man. Not only was he committed to his family, job/coworkers, but also to his community and giving back. He coached my different sport programs during his children's school years and later his grandchildren's teams as well.
He was a member of the Hixton, Taylor, and Blair Rod & Gun Clubs, lending a helping hand where needed and enjoying the friendships he made. Besides trap shooting which he enjoyed with his oldest grandson Hunter, he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting. He made so many great memories with his grandsons on their hunting/fishing trips. Sitting in the tree stand with his 2 yr. old grandson just so he could say he went hunting with Papa.
He was preceded in death by his father Anton J Blazek, brother Anton J Blazek Jr., in-laws Robert & Ilona Shramek, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
Randy was a devoted husband, father, and one of the best Papa's there could be. He leaves behind his wife of almost 40 years Vickie. Daughters Amanda (Nathan) Gerrits, Jennifer (Josh Semanko) Blazek, and Son-in-law Spencer Bauer. His grandchildren Hunter & Haddie Bauer, Danika & Corbin Gerrits, and Lincoln & Turner Semanko. His mother Lavern Blazek, brother Jerry (Patti) Blazek both of Alma Center, brother Rodney (Mary) Blazek of Black River Falls, sister Susan (Frank) Werlein of Taylor. Brother-in-Laws Mike (Grace) Price of Woodbridge, VA, Randy Shramek of Merrillan, Sister-in-Law April (Chuck)Arnold of Merrillan. Along with numerous other relatives.
A celebration of life open house for Condor will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home in Hixton.
