Michele Valerie (LePage) Luhmann

January 13, 1966 - April 2, 2025

WINONA - Michele Valerie (LePage) Luhmann, age 59, of Winona, Minn. and formerly of Waverly, Minn. passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.

She was born on January 13, 1966 in Winsted, Minn. to Valtimere "Pooch" and JoAnn (Scheiber) LePage.

Michele grew up in Waverly and attended Howard Lake-Waverly High School graduating in 1984.

She then attended Beauty School in St. Cloud.

On June 7, 1985 on the Crow River at Albright's Mill, Michele married Kent Luhmann. After marriage, they spent a short time in Denver, Colo. before returning to Minnesota where she managed a Regis Salon in Minnetonka.

They then purchased land in Winona, Minn. and lived in town while they built their log home on eighteen acres. At that time, Michele opened her own salon in Winona "Shell's on The Lake".

On July 24, 1999, they welcomed their daughter Abigail JoAnn to their new log home.

Michele enjoyed fishing on the Mississippi River every Monday with Grandpa Pflughoeft. She enjoyed all types of hunting and "gave the guys a run for their money." Every Spring she enjoyed planting her flower gardens. Michele loved hosting parties for friends and neighbors, including the an annual 4th of July party with fireworks along with many of Abby's school parties. She was famous for her Parmesan cheesy potatoes and her breakfast casseroles. Michele enjoyed her many pet birds over the years.

Michele was blessed to be a caregiver throughout the years for several elderly women who lived on their own.

She also worked for the Diocese of Winona.

Michele is survived by her daughter, Abigail (fiancé Alex Wente); special friend, John Opitz; her mother, JoAnn LePage; siblings, Patti Heller (Mark), Mary Jo Lemke (Lyle), Tim LePage (Janet) and Lisa Milhausen (Travis); mother-in-law, Bette Luhmann; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Kent Luhmann; her father, Valtimere LePage; father-in-law, Wayne Luhmann; and by Annie Malotke, Dorothy Kulas and Grandpa.

Michele will be dearly missed!

A Mass of Christian Burial for Michele Valerie (LePage) Luhmann will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Waverly, Minn. Father Larry Blake will be the Celebrant.

Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Waverly, Minn.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12 beginning at 9 a.m. AT THE CHURCH until time of Mass.
