Michele Lynn Nicol, 73, of Derry, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2025. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the beloved wife of David W. Nicol, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage. In the early years of their marriage, Michele and Dave spent time traveling throughout the western United States - especially the Rocky Mountain region - creating memories that were truly unforgettable. From quiet moments surrounded by breathtaking scenery to spontaneous detours and adventures, those years became some of the most meaningful and joyful times of their lives.
Michele was a proud and loving mother to three children: Melissa M. Hall (Duran), Rebecca L. Frye (Steven), and Zachary D. Nicol (Angela), as well as two stepsons David W. Nicol, Jr. and Michael D. Nicol (Lauren). She found one of her greatest joys in being Grandma and "BB" to her grandchildren: Preston and Evander Hall, Isaiah and Calla Frye, and Ethan, Aiden, and Lian Nicol.
She is also survived by her sister Linda S. Kostelnik and brothers Michael A. Kostelnik (Esther) and Kevin M. Kostelnik (Lori), along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Michele's dedication to her family was passionate and above all else. She lived her life centered around the love and care she gave to those closest to her. Her selflessness was immeasurable - she consistently put the needs of her loved ones before her own, offering unwavering support without hesitation. Her devotion brought comfort, strength, and warmth to everyone she knew, and her presence made every space feel like home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael B. Kostelnik and Marie K. Kostelnik, and her sister, Cheryl E. Kostelnik.
Michele will be remembered for her generous spirit, quiet strength, and wholehearted devotion to those she loved. Her selflessness knew no bounds, and she gave of herself endlessly to ensure the happiness and well-being of her family. Her memory will be cherished always, living on in the hearts of her family and friends, inspiring love, kindness, and strength. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
At Michele's request, there will be no public visitations or services. Interment will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC, 601 Weldon Street, Latrobe.
