Michelle René (Champagne) Hammerschmidt, 51, of Warwick, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024. She was the loving wife of Eric T. Hammerschmidt. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late David and Janice (Dzialo) Champagne.
Michelle received her Bachelor's Degree from Providence College and went on to work as an Auditor for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Above all else, she cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. Michelle was a dedicated animal rescuer and adored her pets. In her free time, she enjoyed reading Stephen King novels and loved all things Disney. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Alongside her husband Eric, she is survived by her brother, Michael Champagne of Providence, her uncle, Jerald McCauley, her cousins, Bruce McCauley and Kim McCauley, and many extended family members and loving friends.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery in Cranston.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00AM-11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: RISPCA, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, Rhode Island 02886. or the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741
