Michelle Ripke, age 54, of Round Rock, Texas died Monday, December 25, 2023 at Loring Hospital in Sac City, Iowa.
Funeral services will take place Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Rembrandt, Iowa. Burial will be in the Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Storm Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
Michelle Lynn Ripke was born June 18, 1969, the daughter of Melvin and Judith (Owings) Ripke in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was raised in Rembrandt, Iowa where she attended grade school and was an active member of 4-H. Michelle graduated high school from Sioux Rapids-Rembrandt in 1987. After high school, Michelle achieved her licensed practical nursing degree from Iowa Central Community College. She worked at HyVee Bakery and later at the Methodist Manor in Storm Lake, Iowa. She moved to Nebraska and then Texas in 2012. Growing up, Michelle was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran in Rembrandt. Most recently, she was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Cedar Park, Texas.
Michelle was passionate about her work as a nurse. In her free time, she could be found reading books or cheering on the Nebraska Huskers football team. More than anything, Michelle treasured time with her family. She could be found supporting her children and attending their activities. She especially loved arts and crafts with her mother and daughter. Michelle will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her memory include her father: Melvin Ripke of Rembrandt, Iowa; children: Tyler (Kelsey) Huff of Port Neches, Texas; Jasmine Huff of Manor, Texas; brother: Randy (Beth) Ripke of Rembrandt, Iowa; nephews: Michael (Dallas) Ripke; Bradley (Brandy) Ripke; Christopher Ripke; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Judith Ripke; sister: Melanie Ripke; and son: Matthew Purvis.
