Michelle Steen Obituary Michelle Steen, age 43, of Providence, RI, formerly of
Wilmington, MA, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2025, from complications of an asthma attack.
Born on September 6, 1982, Michelle was the cherished daughter of Richard Steen and the late Madeleine Campbell, both of Wilmington. She grew up surrounded by love in two large and close knit Wilmington families - the Steens and the Campbells and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 2001.
From an early age, Michelle's creativity and bright spirit were unmistakable. She had a lifelong love for fashion, hair, and makeup, and could often be found laughing with friends, crafting something beautiful, or sharing her thoughts through writing. She was a talented artist who could transform any collection of materials into something special. Michelle also loved animals deeply and brought joy to countless people through her warmth and her gentle humor.
Some of Michelle's fondest memories came from childhood sleepovers at her grandparents' homes, outings with cousins, and Wilmington's famous Fourth of July festivities. Those who knew her best will remember her for her quiet strength, kind heart, and the way she could make anyone smile with her silliness and sincerity.
Michelle's life was not without its challenges, but she met each one with courage and grace. From overcoming health struggles as a child to fighting her way through addiction and depression as an adult, Michelle never gave up hope. She was proud of her recovery and the personal growth that came with it. Her family finds comfort knowing that she is reunited in heaven with her beloved mother, Madeleine, her grandparents, Grandma and Grandpa Campbell and Nana and Papa Steen, her Uncle Joe, Uncle Leo, and Cousin Raffe, all of whom loved her dearly.
Michelle leaves behind her father Richard Steen, her daughters: Arianna, Payton, Jocelyn, Nevaeh, and Alexis, her partner, Jared Terceira, her sisters, Debbie Steen, Mary Anne Steen, Bailey Steen, and Alivia Steen, and her stepsisters, Janelle and Kayla Velozo. Michelle is further survived by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Michelle will forever be remembered for her gentleness, resilience, and big, beautiful heart. Her memory will live on in the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62),
