Douglas H. Hudson, "Doug," age 74, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully at home on November 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Doug was born in Winchester, MA, on March 7, 1951; he was the dear son of the late Harvey P. and Jessie C. (McLeod) Hudson. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and was a proud graduate of Wilmington High School. Doug made many life-long friends throughout his life. Following graduation, Doug went on to serve in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War.

In 1974, Doug married the love of his life, Michele (Washak) Hudson. Together, they built a beautiful life in Wilmington and raised their beloved daughter, Stephanie, who was his pride and joy. Doug was deeply devoted to his family; he was always a source of encouragement and willing to do anything to make their lives easier. His favorite role was being "Papa" or "Grampy" to his grandsons, who were the light of his life. He could always be found cheering them on at sporting events and treasuring every holiday and special occasion spent with "his boys."

Before retiring, Doug worked for many years as a graphic artist and printer at Acme Printing Company and later in Security for Bank of America. He was a dedicated employee and a loyal friend to many of his coworkers. A talented artist and cartoonist, Doug enjoyed drawing and was an avid reader, particularly interested in World War II and history.

Doug will be fondly remembered as a kind, loving, and generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was cherished by his family and friends and affectionately known as "the most favorite uncle in the whole wide world" to his many nieces and nephews.

Doug was the beloved husband of Michele (Washak) Hudson, devoted father of Stephanie Melton and her husband Jeff of Woburn, and loving grandfather of Michael, Jacob, William, and Gensen. He was the dear brother of Donald Hudson and his wife Carla of Arizona, Marge Hudson-Fairfield and her husband Ken Fairfield of Maine, the late Brian Hudson, Bruce Hudson and his wife Stacey of South Carolina, James Hudson and his wife Mary of Wilmington, and Janet Guazzaloca of Haverhill. Doug is also survived by his special mother-in-law Corinne Manzo of Wilmington, and brothers- and sisters-in-law Cori and Dave Sugrue of Wilmington, Greg and Rose Washak of Amesbury, Richie and Andrea Washak of Marco Island, FL, Kerrie and Garrett Hunt of Florida, John and Teresa Washak of North Carolina, Eric Washak of Randolph, and the late Tricia Manzo-Rivera. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of sharing at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Friday, November 14th, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., followed by interment with Military Honors in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory may be made to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
