Mickey Ray Cloninger, 64, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 13, 2023 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House, Huntersville with his loving family by his side.
Mickey was born in Gastonia on May 31, 1958 and is the son of Jack Cloninger and the late Grace Broadway Cloninger.
Mickey was a graduate of South Point High School in Belmont. He worked in the Construction Industry for many years. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and will truly be missed by family and friends. Mickey loved to trout fish on the Linville River and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his son and grandsons.
Mickey is survived by his father, Jack Cloninger; son, Tyler and wife Katie Cloninger; sister, Mary “Lady” Gadd and husband Tim; brother, Mark Cloninger and wife Leigh; two grandchildren, Eli Cloninger, Owen Cloninger ; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
The family will receive family and friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tim Gadd officiating.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to: Levine & Dickson Hospice House- Huntersville, 11900 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078 .

I had a long friendship with Mickey, a whole lot of good times and laughter that I will treasure and I know his buddies will say the same and his family. I will truly miss him.
