Mike James Fritzler

Michael James Fritzler of Austin, Texas passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born on January 10, 1951, in Lubbock, Texas; son of William Fritzler and June Bogle Fritzler. Mike grew up in Houston, Texas, and later relocated to Austin, Texas with his wife Linda and daughter Alisha.
Mike worked as a master home builder for more than 40 years, most of those years spent in the Lake Travis area, and was known for his cliffside masterpieces and for creating stunning lakefront mansions. He could effortlessly fix and build every part of any home and had a passion for working on classic cars. Mike cherished time with family and escaping to nature in New Mexico and Colorado. In his younger years, his weekends were spent skiing on Lake Travis with family and friends. He would later instill in his daughters the love he had for the lake and his never-ending gratitude for every priceless memory made. Mike undoubtedly loved live music and could often be found in small-town music halls, reveling in the rock and roll lifestyle. Hunting led him to find peace in the stillness of the country, allowing him to embrace what he believed was truly important, a simple life lived with the ones he loved. He will be forever missed by all who knew him.
Mike is preceded by his father, William Fritzler, and stepfather, Jim Sadoti. Mike is survived by his wife, Linda Fritzler, daughters Alisha Walker and Sarah Cadwell, grandson, Cole Walker, granddaughters Emily Walker, Madison Walker, and Scarlet Cadwell, Mother June Sadoti, sisters Melinda Peters, and Mary Beth Bosworth, and brother Max Fritzler.
Our family came together as a team and cared for Mike in his final days. He was surrounded by love and compassion, and we are truly grateful to everyone who helped make his last wishes come true.
Family and friends are invited to attend services on December 2, 2023, at 12:00 pm at Lakeway Church, 2203 Lakeway Blvd. Lakeway, TX 78734. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm with a reception immediately to follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
