Duane A. Fritzler, born on July 23, 1940, in Saginaw, MI, passed away on January 17, 2025, in Hemlock, MI. He enjoyed a fulfilling career as a machinist, retiring after 37 years at Saginaw Steering Gear. Duane was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Shields, where he built lasting relationships. Duane loved his Michigan pro sports teams. No matter the season or year, he could be found cheering on the Lions and Tigers. An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in camping, hunting, and riding motorcycles. Duane also appreciated mowing his lawn, farming, and going to estate sales. He particularly cherished cooking for his family and spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife, Byra Mortimore, whom he married on April 20, 1963. Their daughters, Heidi (Mark Jerry) Heinz and Amy (John) Morgan, along with his grandchildren Eric Topham, Randy and Trisha Fritzler, and great-grandchildren Jaylen Topham, Isabella and Emma Fritzler will remember him fondly. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Dorothy (Krueger) Fritzler, sister Shirley Wittig, and niece Susan Duby.
Funeral service for Duane will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd. Pastor Joshua Becker will officiate with burial at Richland Township Cemetery.
