Milan Dukic Obituary

Milan Dukic passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2024, at the age of 70. Born on December 25, 1953, in the picturesque landscapes of Croatia, Milan's journey was marked by resilience, warmth, and an unwavering dedication to his cultural heritage. In 1999, he faced the life-altering challenge of leaving his homeland as a refugee. His courage and perseverance led him to the United States, where he embraced his new beginning with an open heart and an unrelenting work ethic. Milan's journey to American citizenship, which he achieved in 2013, was filled with the same tenacity and grace that characterized his entire life.
Milan's legacy is carried on by his son, Mislav (Jeana) Kovacic, and his cherished granddaughter, Ella, who were the lights of his life, as well as his spouse Sonja. He was preceded in death by his mother, Soka, Milan's memory will live on through the stories and lessons he shared with his family.
A man of many interests, Milan was deeply involved in Milwaukee's Serbian culture and food. His passion for his heritage was evident in his active participation within the Serbian community, where he was known for his friendly demeanor, interesting conversations, and thoughtful insights. He was a hard worker, always ready to share his wisdom, and his impact on those around him was profound and lasting.
As we say goodbye to Milan Dukic a visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church (3201 S 51st St., Milwaukee) from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place in Good Hope Cemetery, Greenfield.
