Mildred "Millie" Marie Emig, 88, of Lafayette, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at The Springs in Lafayette. Millie had struggled with vascular dementia, and the family feels comforted that she is at peace in God's hands. They would like to thank the staff at The Springs for the care and compassion they showed in her final days.

Millie was born June 30, 1937, in Mount Bethel, PA, to the late Ceasar and Santina Pia Maria (Grande) Taucci. She graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1954. She married Joseph at Saint Phillips & James Parish in Phillipsburg, NJ, on January 2, 1960. Their love and commitment spanned 7 decades.

Millie was a loving and supportive mother. She deftly handled all the transportation between school, practices, games and other activities- all while making sure the house, clothes, uniforms and practice gear were all spotless. She was a fantastic cook, and family meals were always a highlight. After all the kids and dogs were out of the house, Millie and Joe loved taking time to travel. Highlights included their trip to the Holy Land.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Joe Emig of Lafayette; her children, Cynthia Emig of Prospect, KY; Joseph (Joanne) Emig, Jr, of Delphi, IN; and Gregory (Nancy) Emig, of West Lafayette, IN; and her granddaughter, Carly Marie Emig.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Carl Taucci, Enes Taucci, Gloria Gretta and Anthony Mailiza.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:30 am, at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 2224 Sacramento Ave., West Lafayette, with Father Jeff Martin. A private burial service will be held at St. Mary Cemetery, Lafayette.
