MILDRED AGNES HACKER

Mildred A. "Millie" Hacker, 90, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on January 19, 2026.

Millie was born on December 9, 1935, in Bear Lake, Michigan to Anna (Smeltzer) Girven and Robert Girven. She graduated from Cadillac High School in Cadillac, Michigan.

She was a long-time and devoted member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, where she enjoyed helping with many church functions and activities.

Millie is survived by her three children: Debbie Uhelski of Grand Blanc, Michigan; James (Rene) Bailey of Barefoot Bay, Florida; and Becky (Ken) Stull of Cadillac, Michigan. Millie was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.

She married George Hacker on May 14, 1966. They lived and worked in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where Millie was employed by the State of Michigan Department of Corrections. After retiring, Millie and George relocated to Vero Beach in 2003.

Millie treasured her many friendships in both Michigan and Florida. She loved entertaining friends for dinner and card parties, enjoying playing golf and participating in multiple leagues, and was an avid player. Millie and George shared a deep love of travel, visiting Europe and Hawaii, taking cruises with friends and family, and traveling throughout the United States to visit loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George Hacker; her parents; her brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Betty Girven; and her son-in-law, Michael Uhelski.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 900 27th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment will be at Great Lakes Cemetery in Grand Blanc, Michigan and memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
