Mildred Imagene Harrell, known affectionately to all as Imagene, passed away on July 31, 2025, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born on December 20, 1962, in Andrews, Texas, she was a lifelong resident of her beloved hometown, where she also drew her last breath, surrounded by the love of her family.
Imagene was the cherished daughter of Stacy Harrell and the late Franklin Harrell. Her life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the joy she found in simple pleasures. Imagene completed her GED and pursued further education, attending some college before following her passion for beauty and creativity at cosmetology school. Her diverse work history included roles with MHMR in Big Spring, Texas, and various positions as a waitress, laundress, and clerk, where she made countless friends and touched many lives with her generosity and vibrant personality.
Those who knew Imagene will fondly remember her as a woman who enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved dancing and welcomed each day with her signature Dr. Pepper; her loved ones knew that the day had truly begun only after Imagene had savored her first sip. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unparalleled, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with them.
Imagene leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She is survived by her devoted mother, Stacy Harrell, her son, Franklin Riordan and his wife Natasha, and her daughters, Christina and her husband Bandy Walls, Dannielle Riordan, and Brooke Hanson. She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Randy Harrell and his wife Barbara, Woody Harrell and his wife Stephanie, Gloria Haley and her husband David, and her numerous nieces and nephews. Imagene was preceded in death by her father, Franklin Harrell, her brother Troy Harrell, and her sister Terrie Gunnels.
Imagene's life was marked by her loving nature, her generous heart, and her passionate embrace of every experience. She was a beacon of positivity, always seeking to add more zest to the everyday. Her infectious laugh and the warmth of her presence will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The Harrell family takes comfort in knowing that Imagene's spirit will continue to dance among them, guiding and inspiring with the memories of her love and the joy she brought into their lives. Imagene's departure is not an end, but a transformation into the memories and stories that will be shared for generations to come.
As the sun sets on her time with us, we bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved. Imagene's journey on earth may have concluded, but her story-written in the lives she touched-will go on forever.
