Mildred Marsey, 84, passed away on August 22, 2012.
Born in Akron on May 21, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Grace Steele. Mildred was a graduate of Ellet High School, and then worked for the City of Akron and eventually Goodyear Aircraft/Aerospace. She was a member of the Model T. Club in Akron. Mildred continued to live in Akron until moving south in the 1970’s to work for Minute Maid/Coca Cola. In 1975, she married John Marsey and settled in Polk City, Fla.
Preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Stump, John Marsey and Donald Snyder; and daughter, Karen D. Comer, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Paula (Ed) Dotson and Claudia (Joseph) Zawada; grandchildren and spouses, Ed and Michele Dotson, Greg and Beth Dotson, Jason and Dana Dotson, Matthew and Melissa Dotson, Shawn and Jackie Zawada, Chris Zawada and Rachael Stright, Michelle and Jason Kerstetter, Michael and Vanessa Pete and Melissa and David Barber; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice McCauslin and Donna (Tony) Knistautas; son-in-law, Kurt Comer; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312. Burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. The family suggests memorials to Hospice Compassus, 1805 N. Jackson St., Ste. 5 & 6, Tullahoma, TN 37388.
