Mildred McVickers Obituary
She leaves behind her sons, Ray W. McVickers Jr., Albert McVickers (Julie), and Robert McVickers (Amy); sister, Emily Smith Laws (Raymond); grandchildren, Joshua McVickers (Jennifer), Kelsey Knutson (Kelton), Nicole Kemp (Jonathan), Alicia Edwards (Ameer), Richard Chavez (Summer), and Timothy McVickers; great grandchildren, Victoria McVickers, Leyton Knutson, Levi Knutson, Lottie Knutson, Henry Kemp, Joanzie McVickers, Sara Jean Chavez, and Lewis Kemp; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mildred's love for her family was unparalleled, and her memory will forever remain in their hearts.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, James P. and Hessie Crisson Smith; son, Timothy W. McVickers; sisters, Frances K. Brown (Elmer), Geneva Oates Owens (Paul), Elvine Biggerstaff (Robert), Mary Lou Branham (Tommy); brothers, Troy Jay Smith, Roland Smith; and husband, Ray W. McVickers Sr.
Family wants to give a special thanks to the staff of Stanley Total Living Center and VIA Health Partners, for the love and care they provided.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 23, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. A service to celebrate the life of Mildred will follow at 2:00 pm, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, officiated by Pastor Eddie McGinnis. Burial will follow the service at Gaston Memorial Park, 1200 S. New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC.
