Mildred “Millie” Maronge Messmer, was born on August 5, 1928 and passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025 at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Emmanuel K. Messmer. Loving mother of Faye Messmer Daigle and mother-in-law of Herbert Paul Daigle. Grandmother of Rachel Daigle Folse (Ricky) and Jamie Daigle May (Tadd). Great-grandmother of Hailey Folse, Ian May, Jacob Folse, Graham May, and Addison May. Daughter of the late Harold P. Maronge and Bertha Fevrier Maronge. Sister of the late Harold P. Maronge Jr., Lloyd Maronge (Betty), Curtis Maronge, and Faye d’Aquin (Clifton). Sister-in-law of Leona Maronge and Micky Maronge, the late Elizabeth Messmer and Catherine Messmer Guidry. Also survived by loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA and longtime employee of Perino’s Seafood. She will be sadly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady of Wisdom Healthcare and Notre Dame Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.
Millie’s request was for no services to be held at this time. She will be interred at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
