Clemma Sue Messmer, a beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2025, at the age of 89. Sue was born on May 15, 1936, to the late Floyd and Marie Butler. Sue married the love of her life Andrew Messmer on August 30,1958 and they spent the next 59 years together. Andrew preceded her in death.
Sue is survived by 2 sons, Robert of Palm Bay, FL, and David of Frisco, TX and 2 granddaughters, Hannah Tanner of Phoenix, AZ, and Talia Maurice of McKinney, TX.
Sue was also preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia Sue Messmer; 4 sisters, Mary Brewster, Helen Todd, Martha Delozier and Dorothy Hinkle; and 4 brothers, John Butler, Clarence Butler, Keith Butler and Richard Butler.
Her family and friends cherished every moment spent in her presence. Clemma's legacy includes the countless lives she touched with her gentle heart and wise words. She had an innate ability to listen and offer support, making her a confidant to many.
Visitation services will be held in her honor at Newcomer Funeral Home, St. Peters, located at 837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO 63376, on July 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM. This gathering will provide an opportunity for all who knew and loved Clemma to come together, share their memories, and celebrate her remarkable life.
Clemma Sue Messmer will be deeply missed, but her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
