Mildred B. "Millie" Wright, 89, of Clinton, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at The Arbors at Glendale Gardens in Clinton. She was born February 19, 1936, in McCook, Nebraska, the daughter of Emil Roedel and Ida (Troester) Roedel.
The Roedel family moved from a farming life in McCook to Englewood, Colorado, where Millie grew up with her 11 siblings. Millie married, had her three boys, and later divorced. She raised her boys by herself for several years, and then she married Lorenzo Dail Wright in 1972. In 1973, the family moved to Deepwater, Missouri to live on a farm, where she started Millie Wright Interiors. Dail preceded her in death in August 1991. Then Millie moved to Clinton, where she continued to run her business for many years. Millie was a talented seamstress and decorator. She was an active member of Northeast Baptist Church, and the community. She loved to read, bake and cook for friends and family, listen to music and NPR Radio, and travel when the opportunity allowed.
Surviving her, are three sons; David Parker, of El Dorado Springs, MO, Andrew Parker (Teri), of Lawrence, KS, and Gary Parker, of Tucson, AZ; two grandsons, Christopher Parker (Julia), of Seattle, WA, and Michael Parker, CA; one granddaughter, Catherine Parker, of Seattle, WA; one great-granddaughter, Fenna Parker; one brother, Harlan Roedel, Lawrence, KS; five sisters, Wilma McCord, Tacoma, WA, Ava Nickel (Gary), Saskatchewan, Albert, Canada, Beverly Roedel, Ponca City, OK, Marge Gowen, Englewood, CO, and Marian Schibbelhute, Carmangay, Alberta, Canada; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lloyd Roedel; and four sisters, Opel Perdue, Irene Gowen, Irma Mumm and Bernice Roedel.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Northeast Baptist Church, Clinton, MO. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., just prior to the service.
