Milton Carl Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Haughey Funeral Home, Inc. on Jan. 3, 2026.
Milton "Terry" Carl, born on October 29, 1952, in Corning, NY, embraced eternity on January 1, 2026. A native of Corning, Milton lived a creative and loving life, making Lindley, NY, his home with his beloved wife, Diana Calkins-Carl. Known to many as Terry, his life was a testament to his talents as a mechanic foreman. The sound of engines turning over was like music to his ears, and he found joy in transforming ordinary cars into high-powered works of art, a testament to his creative spirit. He was a man who loved to work on and build muscle cars, and he found great joy in camping and fishing. His witty charm and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Milton is survived by his devoted wife Diana, whom he married on December 31, 1992. He leaves behind his son, Terry (Tammi) Carl; step-sons Robert (Tina) Leonard Jr and Joseph (Jennifer) Leonard; brother, James (Patricia) Carl; sister, Lori (Thomas) Patterson; and brother-in-law, Clifford Williams. His joy for life was amplified by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry his memory in their hearts. He is preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Alberta Carl; his brother, Roger Carl; sisters, Roxanne Williams and Janet Carl.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., located at 216 East 1st Street, Corning, NY 14830. A service to celebrate the life of Milton "Terry" Carl will follow at 5:00 pm at the same location.

Milton's life was a reflection of his love for family, his passion for cars, and his unique ability to find joy in the simple pleasures. He roared through life like the muscle cars he loved so much, leaving a trail of unforgettable memories. Friends and family are encouraged to share photos and leave memories on Milton's memorial page to celebrate his life. We invite you to join us in remembering a loving husband, a gifted mechanic, and a man whose legacy will be carried on by those who knew and loved him.
