Milton DeRoy Highhouse, 82, of Belleville, IL, born December 19, 1941, in Honesdale, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Charter Senior Living of Shiloh.
Milton was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and the O'Fallon Tennis Club. A devoted grandfather, he went to all his grandchildren's sporting events and was a beacon of light to all those who knew him.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Delvin DeRoy and Vera Louella Highhouse (nee Kellam); his beloved wife, Arlene Highhouse (nee Kunze); and two sisters, Patricia Haesche and Linda Gotham.
Left to cherish Milton's memory are his four children, Kimberley Witkowski of N. Oxford, MA, Lori (Jeff) Schatz of Carlyle, IL, Kristen (Scott) Shirley of Oglesby, IL, Mark (Kathy) Highhouse of Naperville, IL; one brother, Ronald (Judy) Highhouse; and nine grandchildren, Rebecca Witkowski, Matthew (Lauren) Witkowski, Lauren (Colin) Sharkey, Ben Schatz, Allison Shirley, Brooke Shirley, Zach Highhouse, Blake Highhouse, and Austin Highhouse.
Memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association; https://www.heart.org; or Tunnel to Towers; https://www.t2t.org. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.schildknechtfh.com.
A visitation will take place on Monday, December 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., at Corpus Christi Catholic Church; 205 Rasp St., Shiloh, IL 62269. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Fr. Paul Wienhoff officiating and luncheon following.
Family will have a private burial.
