Milton Jackson May

August 22, 1941 – 2026

Milton Jackson May was born on August 22, 1941, in Joshua, where he lived until the age of four. He was born to Ollie Sheridan May and Lala Mae Todtenbier and was the fourth of four children.

Milton attended Grand Prairie High School before continuing his education at Arlington Baptist College and the University of Texas at Arlington. He later earned his bachelor's degree from Bible Baptist Seminary, preparing for a lifetime devoted to ministry.

In 1966, Milton began his missionary work in Germany, faithfully serving for 13 years in the cities of Heilbronn, Zweibrücken, Aachen, and Mannheim. His heart for sharing the Gospel defined his life and calling. After 50 years of faithful service in ministry, he retired in 2026.

Throughout his life, Milton lived in Germany as well as in Grand Prairie, Dallas, and Kingwood.

On August 21, 1982, he married the love of his life, Cheryl, in Dallas, Texas. Their marriage was one of the most cherished blessings of his life, along with the birth of his sons and his lifelong calling to share the Gospel.

Milton was a devoted member of Kingwood First Baptist Church. He faithfully served as Pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church and as Chaplain at Atascocita Youth Facility until his passing. He was also actively involved in The Gideons International and Kairos Prison Ministry, continuing his commitment to ministering to others wherever he was called.

Milton enjoyed traveling by vehicle, cruising, and following sports. He loved Christian Gospel music and found joy in worship and praise. Those who knew him would describe him as determined, focused, and deeply caring - a man steadfast in faith and generous in spirit.

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Audia Lou Balthrod, Joyce Evelyn Leforgey, Thomas Sheridan May, and Linda Neil Todtenbier.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl; his sons, Keith May, Eric May, and Michael May; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Jessica, Hannah, Harlan, and Maddie; and his great-grandchildren, Leighton, Zachary, and Rylan.

Milton's life was marked by unwavering faith, devoted service, and a deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with the message of hope and salvation.
