Miquella Valencia Obituary

Miquella R. Valencia, a vibrant spirit born on October 10, 1978, began her journey through life with a sparkle that would illuminate the paths of all those fortunate enough to know her. On October 31, 2025, she departed unexpectedly, leaving behind a cascade of memories wrapped in love and laughter, surrounded by her beloved family.

Miquella carved her own path from an early age, attending Catholic schools in the picturesque surroundings of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, where she embraced her education with a heart full of dreams. Her tenacity earned her a diploma from Capital High School, adorned with the esteemed Bootstrap Award, a testament to her unyielding perseverance and spirit. She worked diligently as a medical records processor for Medicare, her role crucial, yet often unnoticed, reflecting her humble nature.

A woman of many talents, Miquella painted and drew with a passion that echoed through her artworks, each stroke infectious with her characteristic vibrancy. She crafted jewelry and rosaries, imbuing her creations with a piece of her adventurous heart. Music filled her life, a universal language through which she expressed the myriad layers of her being.

Miquella's essence was encapsulated in her laughter, her courage, and her unwavering affirmation of life. Fiercely independent and blessed with a strong will, she lived life on her own terms—sometimes to the chagrin of her mother, who observed with a mixture of bemusement and pride. Miquella had a unique ability to focus on the radiant facets of existence, drawing from her well of optimism even in the face of adversity.

A devoted mother to her daughters, LisaMarie and Lexus, and a cherished grandmother to her beloved Kaizen, her heart overflowed with love for her family. She fostered deep connections, nurturing an unbreakable bond that will echo through generations. Miquella always found a moment to lend a hand, embodying selflessness and empathy even until the very end, making the extraordinary decision to become an organ donor, ensuring her legacy of love would continue.

Miquella is survived by her husband, Anthony Valencia; her adoring daughters, LisaMarie and Lexus; and her grandson, Kaizen, who brought her immeasurable joy. She leaves behind a tapestry of familial affection woven with her parents, Richard and Michelle Galaz, and Joe and Andrie Lucero, alongside her siblings: Mariah, Felicia, Sandy, Yvette, and Richard, JD, Adam, who will forever carry her spirit within them. Her all-encompassing love enveloped her god-parents, Debbie and Bobby, and radiated through her extended family.

While Miquella was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Robert and Clara Romero, and many treasured relatives including Auntie Cindy and numerous cousins, her memory will flourish eternally among those she touched. Each laugh, each colorful creation, and each act of kindness stand as markers along her path—a journey filled with warmth, adventure, and an indomitable zest for life.

As we gather to celebrate Miquella R. Valencia, we honor a remarkable woman whose legacy will forever inspire. She lived unapologetically and loved deeply—a beacon of light, whose story will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she left behind.
