Mira Dobrzynski, 87, longtime resident of Warren, passed away January 2, 2025. Mira was born December 15, 1937, to Stefan and Halina Fertner in Plock, Poland. She and her family escaped from Poland near the end of World War II, made their way to England, and eventually found passage to Hamtramck, Michigan, to begin their American journey. After graduating from St. Florian High School, Mira met and married her husband Carl in Hamtramck, and they moved to Warren where they started their family. Mira worked a number of years in the hardware department at Sears and spent most of her life as a homemaker. Besides being an outstanding Polish cook, she enjoyed playing cards, bowling, golfing and she especially loved travelling the world and dancing the night away to polkas and tangos. Above all, Mira was a loving mother and "Babcia" to her children and grandchildren, all of whom filled her heart with tremendous joy.
Mira is survived by her children, Mark (Annette) Dobrzynski of Honor, MI, and Karen Dobrzynski of Grand Rapids, MI, and son-in-law Tony Crozier of Doylestown, PA. Mira was also a proud "Babcia" to five grandchildren who loved her deeply – Stephen and Alyssa Dobrzynski and Zachary, Ethan and Logan Crozier. Mira was preceded in death a year ago by her husband Carl after celebrating 67 years of marriage, her son Raymond, her daughter Linda, her brother Renek, sister Hania and her parents.
A mass will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 44633 Utica Rd in Utica, MI, at 9:30 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to begin gathering at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Rd. in Clinton Township, MI, and a luncheon will be held at 12:00 noon at The Gazebo Banquet Center, 31104 Mound Rd.
