Miriam "Ruth" Moore

Miriam "Ruth" Moore, 73, of Ridgeland SC, passed away on August 3, 2024. Ruth is the wife of Sam Moore.
Ruth was born in Beaufort SC, the daughter of the late Floyd and Bessie Smith. Ruth attended school in Grays SC. She then moved to Ridgeland SC, where she was a member of Euhaw Baptist Church. She worked as a manager in retail where she never met a stranger and had many friends who loved and adored her. She most enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you knew Ruth, you know that she loved everybody and even though she had nine biological children a lot of others knew her as Momma Ruthie.
In addition to her husband Sam, of 28 years, Ruth is survived by her seven children; Michelle Smith Dunlap (Kerry) of Columbia SC, Tommy Lubold (Missy) of Ridgeland SC, Lori Rooker (Ben) of St. Helena SC, Gary Wolcott Jr. (Mackenzie) of Gilbert SC, Jessica McConnell (Craig) of Irmo SC, Tina Generette (Jerry) of Columbia SC, and Frederic Smith of Irmo SC; 26 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Clements (Billy) of Ridgeland SC, and Patricia Jenkins of Florence SC; Mother in law, Rebecca Moore of Spartanburg SC; Three sister in laws, Naomi Strickland (Andy) of Orangeburg SC, Sara Kearney (Andy) of Maylasia, Hannah Ruff (Scott) of Spartanburg SC, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her two daughters, Rosemary and Melinda Wolcott; two brothers, Earl and Arnold Smith, and her father in law, Dan Moore.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm til 7:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
