Misti Lee Long passed away quietly surrounded by the people she loved the most Thursday September 18th.
Misti, although born in Great Falls, MT in 1963, was raised in West Plains, graduating from West Plains High School where she participated on the debate team. She went to college at School of the Ozarks; there she made lifelong friends and would often reminisce about the people she met during her time there.
Misti was a dreamer; she often dreamed about being on Jeopardy and becoming a famous author. She could make a story out of even the simplest mundane things much to the delight (and sometimes annoyance haha) of her friends and family. Misti was a force and loved to talk to anyone, her ability to communicate and befriend people was one of her greatest skills.
Misti is survived by her son, Joshua Dunne, her mother Jennie Watkins, her sisters Sheila Uchtman (Kenny), Diane Robinson (Bruce), her brother Roger Watkins, her husband Curtis, her daughters Christina, Sabrina, and Carol, her Uncle Pat, her nieces and nephews, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her grandmother Sylvia Nicks, her dad Duane Watkins, and her youngest son, Jeremy Brown.
Misti's fierce intellect and love for her family will be missed by the world and by those who knew and loved her. To Misti: We love you. We miss you. We cannot wait until we see you again.
A Celebration of Misti's Life will be held October 25, at the Washington Ave Church of Christ in West Plains.
Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 W. Main St.; Jefferson City, MO 65109. (573) 636-3838. Condolences may be left for the family online at www.millardfamilychapels.com
