WILLIAMSTON – Mitchell Landen Hill, age 78, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. Born in Edgecombe County, NC on August 21, 1947, he was the son of the late David V. Hill and Addie Mae Coley Hill. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sally Ann Hill; son, Brandon Scott Hill; sister-in-law, Gracie Hill.
Mitchell was a man who found his greatest joys in the simple, meaningful moments of life. He loved spending time outdoors, whether he was hunting in the woods or casting a line while fishing-especially during the many trips he and his beloved wife, Sally, took to Swan Quarter. Those peaceful days by the water and evenings spent relaxing on the porch at the pond were among his most cherished times.
Mitchell deeply loved his family and valued every moment shared with them. He was happiest surrounded by loved ones, telling stories, and enjoying the beauty of life's quiet blessings.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Though his chair on the porch may now sit empty, his spirit will forever rest in the places and people he loved most.
Mitchell is survived by his granddaughter, Baleigh Nicholson (Daniel); great-grandson, Danny Nicholson; brother, Charles Hill; sister; Carolyn Weeks; nephews, Brian Hill (Kelly), Chuck Hill, Sherwood Hill; great-nephew, Zach Hill (Kerry); great- niece, Paige Cribb (Randall); Chandler Cribb.
