Mona Jean Cofer, born on July 3, 1947, in Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Griffin, Georgia. She was a compassionate individual who dedicated her life to serving others, a value reflected in her esteemed career at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic, Dr. Berry's Office and Nursing Homes where she worked diligently as a licensed practical nurse after receiving her LPN degree. She was also employed in the HR Department at the University of Georgia.

Mona was known for her caring nature and her unwavering concern for the wellbeing of those around her. Her legacy of kindness and service to others will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She also enjoyed participating with the Cold Sassy Players of Commerce, Georgia

Mona loved the Lord. Her favorite scriptures were Psalm 23, which she memorized as a child and could still quote from memory, and Psalm 30:4-5 which she used to sing (Joy Comes in the Morning sung by the King Family or The Gaithers) while playing the piano.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cofer, and her mother, Lucille Hollowell Cofer. Their influence undoubtedly played a significant role in the compassionate person she became.
