Monique (Richard) Champigny (82), of Enfield, CT passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2024. She was born in La Patrie, Quebec on January 15, 1942, to parents Arthur & Albertine (Blais) Richard and moved to the U.S. in 1963. She married the love of her life, Aurel Champigny, in 1969 and they enjoyed over 55 years of marriage. Before retirement, she worked at Bob Surplus/Stores for 25 years. In retirement, she loved to travel and especially cherished her winters in Hollywood Florida spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two children, her son Dennis Champigny and daughter Manon Champigny, both of Enfield, as well as her beloved granddaughter Morgan Champigny. She will also be missed by her bonus son and his family, Billy Beebe, who affectionately called her Sweet Pea. She leaves three brothers, Rene (Mireille) Richard of Sherbrooke, Quebec; Camille (Ginette) Richard of Windham, CT; and Benoit Richard of Plainfield, CT as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews both in Connecticut and Canada. She was pre-deceased by three brothers all of Willimantic, CT (Albert, Fernand, and Lucien), her sister Aline Richard of St. Jean, Quebec, and many brothers and sisters-in-laws. A special thank you for the great care she received at Kimberly Hall in Windsor Connecticut where she spent the last year of her life.
The wake will be held Friday Nov. 22nd from 4-7 p.m. at Browne Memorial Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, CT. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday Nov. 23rd at 10 a.m. at St. Martha Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield, CT.
