Monique Nicole Wiley

Monique Nicole Wiley, 52, passed away on March 1,2026. She was born October 6, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan to Brenda Hicks and Jewell Youngblood then later adopted by Howard Wiley. She was preceded in death by both biological parents; grandparents, Herman and Anabelle Hicks; youngest brother, Tiwanne Wiley and best friend, Cynthia Strohm.

Monique moved to Topeka in 1988 and graduated from Topeka High School and Bryan College.

She enjoyed doing puzzles, fishing, crocheting, and being a "handy man". Monique, most of all, loved dancing with her grandbabies.

She was a mother, "mimi", aunt and friend who was caring, loving and funny. She was intelligent and straight forward speaking, saying unapologetic what was on her mind. Monique was an incredibly strong person despite dealing with the kind of pain she endured for the last three years. She never lost her spunk, and she fought until the very end.

Her beautiful life is a legacy carried on by her father, Howard Wiley; life partner, Steve Brown; daughters Kaision Wiley, Lakayla Wiley and Cinosha Wiley; goddaughter, Iesha Starkebaum; bonus children, Angelique Ashley, and Brandon; brothers Lamark Wiley, LaShaune (Stephanie) Wiley; eighteen grandchildren and a host of loved ones and friends.

She is dearly missed.
