Morris (Bud) Booth, Jr. 74, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Derby, CT, on November 2, 1950, to the late Morris Edwin Booth, Sr. and Lola Estelle Wilber Booth. Bud is survived by his wife Joan Flood Booth of Valdosta, his daughter Rachel Booth of Harwinton, CT, grandsons, Evan Jarvis and Bryce Jarvis, both of Harwinton, CT; his stepdaughter, Trina Perdue (James), of Valdosta, and grandsons, Colton Perdue and Gabriel Perdue, both of Valdosta.

Bud graduated from Shelton High School, Shelton, CT, class of 1970. Bud loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking, animals, cooking and a good challenge of fixing broken items. He remarked that if he couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed. Bud played cards with the Huntington boys on the green and enjoyed working on cars.

Bud started reading National Geographic Magazine in 1961 and read every single issue until he passed, for a total of 64 years.

He worked hard all his life in a variety of professions, including working as a machinist toolmaker, security guard, refurbishing homes with his dad, and owned Huntington Locksmithing. When he met his future wife Joan, he moved from Shelton, CT. to Winsted, CT. and remained there until he and Joan moved to Valdosta, GA in 2016. Retiring in 2015, he loved working on his home and yard as well as cooking for his family and friends. RA limited his mobility in his later years. He was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.

No services are planned at this time. Condolences to the family may be shared at www.mclanecares.com.
