Davis Mortuary Service - GretnaMureline Grant, age 81, entered peacefully into eternal rest at Ochsner Medical Center on Thursday, October 30, 2025. She was a native of Gretna, LA (McDonoghville Community) and a resident of Woldenberg Village in Algiers, LA. Mureline was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School, and she attended Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO). She was formerly employed with the Jefferson Parish Public School System as a Food Service Worker and Substitute Teacher. Mureline was a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a deaconess and also participated with Westside Missionary Baptist Association, until her health began to decline. Beloved mother of Olin D. Grant, Sr. and Pastor Orin D. (Myrna A.) Grant, Sr. Loving grandmother of Olin D. Grant, Jr., Travis (Arielle) Galle, Ryan (Nadia) Galle, and the late Orin D. Grant, Jr. Great grandmother of Morgan and Aidan Galle. Daughter of the late William Grant, Jr. and Mary Marjorie Williams-Grant. Stepdaughter of the late Isaiah Gray. Granddaughter of the late Isaac Williams, Josephine Bradley-James, William Grant, Sr. and Mary Baltimore-Grant. Beloved sister of Joyce L. Grant- Campbell, Josephine Gray-Hartman, Rachel Gray, and the late William Grant, III and Kathleen Boyer-Price. Also cherishing her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Westside Missionary Baptist Association are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe Street, Gretna, LA on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Rev. Dr. Orin D. Grant, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m.. until service time at the church.
