Muriel Alma Anderson, age 88, of Frederic, WI, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Glenview Assisted Living in Shell Lake. She was born on December 8, 1936, in Frederic to the late Marvin and Virgie (Ordway) Vangsgard. She attended grade school and high school in Frederic. She married Dale Anderson in 1954. She played alto sax in the high school band and did babysitting and worked as a secretary for an electric company while she was in high school. Muriel was an Avon Representative for two years and was promoted to District Manager in 1968, and she and her family moved to Mankato, MN. Muriel became a District Governor in ZONTA as an Executive Professional Women's International Club. She attended conferences in Mexico, Australia, and Finland as an officer for ZONTA. After retiring, Muriel and Dale moved back to Wisconsin to be closer to their parents. Muriel went to work as an Office Manager for Engstrom's ABC Siding Company in Siren, WI where her husband was hired as a salesman. After a few years, they both retired and moved to the Dake Road property that they owned on the Clam River. She enjoyed camping, quilting, and spending time with her family.
Survivors includer her husband, Dale Anderson; her daughter, Mary Jo Johnson; and one grandson, Brandon (Hannah) Johnson.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents and her son-in-law, Gary Johnson.
A Funeral Service for Muriel will be held at 1:30PM on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Trade Lake. Visitation will be held from 12:30PM until the time of the service. Muriel will be laid to rest at West Denmark Cemetery. Online Condolences may be expressed at www.swedberg-taylor.com.
