Muriel F. Kenyon, 85, peacefully passed away on June 29, 2025, at the Hope Hospice Center in Providence, RI, surrounded by her family. She died less than a year after losing her beloved husband, William Joseph Kenyon, Sr. Born in Providence, she was the cherished daughter of the late Alice (Kirwin) and Roland Dessaint. Muriel was proud to be the mother of three wonderful children: William J. Kenyon, Jr. of Coventry, RI; Sylinda M. Kenyon of Houston, TX; and Keith T. Kenyon of Coventry, RI. She was deeply loved by her children's spouses, Tammy Kenyon, Renee Cassese, and Lori Kenyon, who were forever touched by her warmth and kindness.
Muriel was a bright presence at Halcyon at West Bay, in the assisted living section, where she was well-loved by staff and fellow residents. She was their walking love bug, always greeting everyone with a warm smile and a kind word on her daily walks. She loved the friends she made.
After dedicating many years to raising her children and caring for her loved ones, Muriel spent over 20 years working at the Rhode Island Medical Center, where she provided attentive and loving care to her patients, treating everyone like family.
Her childhood was filled with the love of her close-knit siblings: Roland F. Dessaint, Beverly Metoxen, and Marleen Perreault, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She had two half-siblings who grew up in California: Thomas Dessaint and Sandy Lee Dessaint, with whom she was close.
She was a proud grandmother to Taylor Kenyon Nolette, Rebecca Kenyon, Derek Kenyon, and Devyn Kenyon, as well as great-grandchildren Madalyn Kenyon, Grayson Bliss, and R. Henri Nolette. Muriel will be reunited in heaven with her late grandson, William J. Kenyon III, and her younger brother, Robert (Bobby) Dessaint, who passed away in early childhood.
Muriel was honored and happy to be a part of her grandson's wedding to Beverly Diaz-Kenyon in Virginia, enjoying the family fun, a loving event, and dancing the night away.
Muriel's daily conversations will be missed by her best friend, sister-in-law, Sandy Dessaint of New Hampshire. Muriel will be embraced by her many cherished fur babies, whom she loved dearly throughout her life. Her family and friends who loved her dearly will always remember her warmth and loving smile.
Muriel Kenyon will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, Rhode Island. The details of the service will be shared once finalized.
In place of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA Rhode Island, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI, 02886 in Memory of Muriel Francis Kenyon.

My heart is heavy and saddened to hear of the loss of my sister Muriel. I want to offer my sincerest condolences to Muriel's entire family and Friends. To say that she was an amazing woman, mother, grandmother, auntie and friend would be an understatement. Her smile would light up a room. Her compassion love and respect for others was infectious. She was such a joy to be with. I will always cherish the times she came to visit us here in California and our lovely phone conversations from time to time. She will be sorely missed but never ever forgotten. God bless you sis. I love and miss you, Tom
