Myra Catherine Hensel

Myra C. Hensel passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at her home in Edina, Minnesota. She was 97. Born to Dennis and Susan Klingelhutz on April 4, 1925 in Chanhassen, MN. She retired after a long career working in both grocery and retail, as well as a nanny and residential hostess.
She was a devout Catholic, attending Our Lady of Grace for 40 years. Mom loved to cook and entertain. Myra was a loving mother and will be remembered for her gourmet meals, love for shopping and card playing. A champion 500 player.
Myra was predeceased by husbands, Maurice P. Powers (1959; father of her children) and Henry J. Hensel (1982); siblings, Daniel A. Klingelhutz, Marie S. Nien, Rosella "Sally" Koehnen, Florence A. Hess-Deuffert, Evelyn F. Wartman-Brown, Aloysius "Al" H. Klingelhutz, Luella C. Neidenfeuhr, and Thomas O. Klingelhutz; and grandson, Christopher M. Johnston (2011).
Myra is survived by her six children, Sandra Moore (Peter), Sharon Johnston (d/Robert), Susan Rogers, Jacqueline Powers, Thomas Powers, Nancy Garrett (d/Robert); 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She loved her family.
Memorial Mass to be held on Thursday, September 1, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Avenue, Edina, MN 55436. Visitation beginning at 10 AM. Burial at 1:15 PM at Shakopee Catholic Cemetery (Formerly St. Mark's), 830 10th Avenue West, Shakopee, MN 55379.
