Myra Faye Ponthier

Myra Ponthier, 88, "Sissy", a resident of Zachary, died on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. There will be a visitation at the First Baptist Church of Zachary on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 9:00 am until funeral services at 11:00 am, conducted by Rev. Eddie Wren. The burial will be at Azalea Rest Cemetery. She is survived by her two sons: Mike Kirby and wife Rosanne Kirby of Highlands Ranch, CO; Dennis Kirby and wife Ella Kirby of Zachary; daughter, Kim Kirby of Destin, FL; step-daughters Marleen Lictenberger; Chrissy McCurry; and Robbie Heroman; sister, Debbie Lloyd Burkheiser and husband Mike Burkheiser; grandchildren: Brooke Deroscher, Zeke Kirby, Travis Kirby, Emily Kantor, step-grandchildren: Jerod McCurry, Luke McCurry, Jeff Lictenberger, Adam Lictenberger, Erika Vogel, Matthew Heroman, and Jessie Felps; great-grandchildren: Brendan Deroscher, Vivian Kirby, Noah Kantor, Quinn Kantor, Hayes Kantor, and step-great-grandchildren: Cole McCurry, Harrison Felps, Leona Vogel, and Romy Vogel. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Ponthier; father T.O. Lloyd; mother Hester Wales Lloyd; and brother Jerry G. Lloyd. Pallbearers will be Travis Kirby, Brendan Deroscher, Luke McCurry, Tommy Burkheiser, Todd Burkheiser, and Zeke Kirby. Honorary pallbearer will be Cole McCurry. She graduated from Zachary High School and obtained her Pest Control License from the State of Louisiana. Together she and her husband started Cajun Pest Control. She was a member of Primetimers. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge. She was a member of 3 Bridge clubs. She was a member of the Town and Country Reviewers Book Club. She especially enjoyed traveling with her family and entertaining her friends. Myra will be remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, caring sister, and loyal friend to so many. Her kindness, dedication, and warmth left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Myra to the Alzheimer's Association and to the Northern Colorado Down Syndrome Association. The family of Myra extends their heartfelt appreciation to Rochelle Young, Farrel Fabre, Tiera Armstrong, and Shelly Wintz from Pinnacle Hospice for the love and care given to Myra and her family. The family would also like to thank the many sitters who were by her side and took such great care of her during her illness.
