Myrna (Michels) Yenter, age 88, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 7, 2024 at Ecumen Sand Prairie, St. Peter.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00am Friday, April 26, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. To leave a condolence for the family, visit www.mankatomortuary.com.

Myrna was born March 14, 1936 in Mankato to Walter and Agnes (Hogan) Michels. She graduated from Nicollet HS, and furthered her education in social work at Mankato State University (now Minnesota State University); then received her masters from Winona State University. She worked extensively as a social worker and as a counselor. Myrna was employed for 13 years at Minnesota State Security Hospital in St. Peter. She then became the sole proprietor of Outpatient Mental Health Services, retiring in 2016.

Myrna was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and Catholic Order of Fosters. She enjoyed flowers, plants, bird watching as well as traveling. Her greatest joy were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Myrna is survived by three children; Curtis (special friend, Brenda Burke), Brian (Rachel), and Suzanne (Jeff) Denny; 5 grandchildren;11 great grandchildren; sister Lois Jagerson; and sister-in-law Rita Michels. She was preceded in death by two sons; Mark and Wayne; grandson, Lucas; her parents; brothers: Ron and Dave; sister-in-law Shirley Michels; and brother-in-law James Jagerson.
