Myron "Mike" F. Ladd, 70, of Duxbury, passed away on Tuesday August 29, 2023, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Born on February 6, 1953, in Somerville, MA. He was the son of the late Fredrick and Mary (Ridgeway) Ladd. He married Norma E. Houston on March 17, 1979 in Montpelier.
Mike graduated from high school in Ipswich Massachusetts and attended Northeastern University in Boston where he studied anthropology. As a young man he worked in Boston and in 1977 moved to Vermont. He worked for Community Action in Barre, Rock of Ages and several other granite sheds in Barre area, he also worked as a carpenter for local construction companies. In 1986 Mike and Norma moved to the south settling in South Carolina. He returned to Vermont in 2017 making his home with Norma in Duxbury. Mike enjoyed playing chess and long walks.
He is survived by his wife Norma Ladd, of Duxbury; 2 daughters Erin Gonyo, of Bradford and Brandy Hurt, of North Carolina; 3 brothers David, Scott and Dan Ladd; 1 sister Mary; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; as well as extended family.
A private family service to celebrate the life of Myron F. Ladd will be private at a later date. For those who wish memorial gifts in memory of Mike can be made to the Duxbury Elf Food Shelf 4987 VT Rte. 100 Duxbury, VT 05676.
