Myron Stephen Powell

Myron Stephen Powell, age 86, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, at The Courtyard of Wheelersburg. He was born the son of the late Myley Powell and Mary A. (Foster) Barber on October 13, 1939 in Ironton. Stephen proudly served his country in both the US Marines for five years and then the U.S. Army for eight years. He was also a retired pastor, store manager, and insurance salesman for Western Southern. His hobbies were reading, fishing, and watching football. In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie Jena (Childers) Powell, his brother, Myley Powell Jr., and his son Brent Wayne Powell Sr. He is survived by his children, Michael Stephen (Jodi) Powell of Florida, Tina (John) Dubiel of West Portsmouth, Hope (Mike) King of Florida, Kara (Shane) Bond of Wheelersburg, Sheri (Doug) Pelphrey of Stout, Jacqueline Powell, Amber Powell, and many grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Visitation for Stephen will be held on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, at Turner & Son Funeral Home from 1:00pm until 2:00pm. Graveside services with military honors will take place immediately following visitation at 2:30pm at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
