Myrtie Faletau Obituary

Visit the Nelson Family Mortuary website to view the full obituary.
With hearts filled with sorrow, we bid farewell to the compassionate and loving soul, Myrtie Hellen Faletau, known affectionately by many as Meti. Born in San Mateo, CA, on October 1, 1981, Myrtie's warmth radiated throughout her 44 years of life, touching all who had the privilege of knowing her. A humble woman with an unwavering faith, Myrtie was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, embodying its teachings in her everyday life.

Smart, with a love for learning, Myrtie was an avid reader and an astonishingly skilled pianist. Her love for the arts transcended into her everyday life, often captivating her nieces and nephews with crafts, a testament to her creativity and nurturing spirit. She had an insatiable passion for culinary arts, always creating magic in the kitchen. Myrtie also found immense joy in Korean dramas, often spending hours engrossed in captivating storylines. Her life journey led her to many places, from her birthplace in California to Texas and finally to a cherished home in Orem, Utah, where she spent the last 30 years of her life.

Myrtie was a beacon of love and family, holding her parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews dear to her heart. She is survived by her loving mother, Kasinga Faletau; her esteemed brother, Vikatoa Faletau; her cherished brother, Alo Faletau; her beloved sister, Nane Feula; and her adored sister, Telesia Faletau. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Manase Faletau, and her dear brother, Fakaosi Faletau. As stated in the Book of Mormon, "And charity suffereth long, and is kind, and envieth not, and is not puffed up, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil, and rejoiceth not in iniquity but rejoiceth in the truth, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things." (Moroni 7:45). Myrtie, indeed, was an embodiment of this verse, her life a testament to her enduring love and kindness.

A family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 9:00 pm MDT at the Nelson Family Mortuary, 4780 North University Avenue, Provo, Utah, 84604. We invite all who knew Myrtie to remember her life, sharing memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and we encourage you to celebrate her life, honoring the remarkable woman she was.
