Obituary published on Legacy.com by The Boyd Family Funeral Home on Dec. 23, 2025.
Nada C. David entered this world on July 25, 1941, born at Charity Hospital to the late Sherman Copelin, Sr., and Berniece Ingraham. On December 12, 2025, at 8:10 a.m., she peacefully answered the Lord's call, completing a life richly lived and firmly rooted in faith, love, and service. Nada was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her throughout her life. She received her early education at All Saints School, where her spiritual foundation was laid, and she remained a faithful and active member of All Saints Church until her health declined, serving diligently within the church and the surrounding community. She later attended L.B. Landry High School and went on to enjoy a long and fulfilling career, retiring from Casey Jones Super Market, where she was admired for her dedication, strong work ethic, and warm spirit. Nada was married to the late Louis David, Sr. for over fifty years, sharing a loving and faithful union until he was called home to be with the Lord. Their marriage was a true testament to commitment, family, joy, and enduring love. Known for her outgoing personality, Nada never met a stranger. She loved talking to people, having fun, and joyfully declaring that she was "Perking," a phrase that became a hallmark of her cheerful spirit. Her laughter, warmth, and loving presence brought joy to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis David, Sr.; her parents, Sherman Copelin, Sr. and Berniece Ingraham; her grandmother, Elvina Zeno White; her children, Anthony David, Bruce Paul Roy, Louis Sutton, and Theresa Mitchell; her grandchild, Louis David III; and her great-grandchildren, Heaven Wallace and Anniyah David. She leaves to cherish her memory her five beloved sons: Michael Wallace, Jr. (Lynn), Robin Wallace, Sr. (Rhonda), Louis David, Jr. (Cathy), Jeffrey David, Sr. (Pam), and Kirk David, Sr. (Sharon). She is also survived by her three loving sisters, Antonette Colar (preceded in death by Henry), Roberta Brown, and Cleotha Brown Bush. Nada's legacy continues through a host of loving descendants, including twenty (20) grandchildren, thirty-eight (38) great-grandchildren, and four (4) great-great-grandchildren. Nada C. David will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep love for family, joyful spirit, and faithful service to God and the community. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the generations whose lives she touched. "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" 2 Corinthians 5:8.
