Nadine Adams Krieg, 74, of
Troy, MO, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, surrounded by her husband and children.
Nadine was born November 13, 1949, to Alvin and Adele (Thomassen) Adams Sr. She was the youngest of four children and grew up on the Adams family farm in Whiteside, MO. After graduating from Clopton High School in 1967, Nadine met Paul Krieg at a community dance in Silex and they were united in marriage on April 19, 1969. They celebrated 55 years of marriage together this spring.
In her younger years, Nadine worked as a teller at the Bank of Louisiana and then as a secretary for JV Midwest and Sydenstricker & Moore. She was also an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed designing and sewing wedding dresses and formal wear for many women in Troy. Later, she managed the alterations for Thro's and Michelle's and spent evenings sewing intricate dresses for her daughter, Kate.
Her biggest professional accomplishment was owning her own interior design business, Interiors by Nadine. Nadine and Paul sold and installed wallpaper and window treatments in commercial and community buildings, including hospitals, schools, and court buildings, as well as many private residences.
Nadine was a proud member of the Zion United Church of Christ and through the years, she enjoyed participating in the Lincoln County Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, the WISE investment club with ladies from Lincoln and Pike Counties, and the Lincoln County R-III Parent Teachers Organization, of which she served as president. She reinforced her love of theatre with years of volunteer ushering at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis.
After Paul retired from Peoples Bank, he and Nadine spent their winters in Florida. Nadine loved playing tennis and served as captain of her team with the Lee County Tennis Association. She also enjoyed hobbies that allowed her to create with her hands. She was talented in stained-glass work, basket weaving, and custom picture matting.
Family was extremely important to Nadine. She spearheaded the Adams family Christmas celebration each year with 70+ family members attending. She was especially proud of her two children, Kyle and Kate. She never missed one of Kyle's tennis matches or cross-country meets and loved to travel with Kate, taking trips to Europe and South America with her. In her later years, she treasured her time as "Gaga" to her granddaughter, Adele Nadine. She also always looked forward to playing Bunko with her good friends in Troy.
Nadine is survived by her husband of 55 years, Paul Krieg of Troy; children, Kyle Krieg of St. Louis and Kate Krieg (partner Jon Logan) of Denver, CO; granddaughter, Adele Nadine Logan of Denver, CO; siblings, Alvin (the late Rosie) Adams Jr. of Eolia, LaVerne (Robert) Wright of Eolia, and Melba (Ben) Houston of Elsberry; nieces and nephews, Larry (Cynthia) Adams, Kathy (the late Lilburn) Gregory, Karen (Robert) Omohundro, Penny Adams, Rick (Lana) Wright, Clinton Wright, Hally (Jeff) Wells, Ellen (Jarrod) Richards, Mitchell Houston, and many more, totaling 80+ members of her beloved Adams family.
