Nancy M. Brown, 69, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, passed away in Albany, New York on May 2, 2025, following a long, courageous and dignified battle with cancer, leaving a void her family that can never be filled.
Nancy was born in Lockport, NY in 1955, the daughter of the late A. Richard and Mary Alice Nodine (nee Lanighan). Nancy attended DeSales High School in Lockport, NY and was a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1985. She worked as a nurse at Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, NY, before putting her career on hold to raise four amazing children.
Nancy was a devoted and loving mother to Kara, Brenna, Brett and Bryce and grandchildren Kayden and Holden. She was very proud of them and their accomplishments. They felt the love and support she always provided. Her love touched more people than we will ever know.
Nancy took special joy in her children’s schooling often volunteering at the schools they attend. She served as the PTO President of the Orchard Park School District for several years. Nancy was an avid cook and artist. Her works of art will be treasured by her family forever.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Martin Nodine.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, James; children, Kara, Brenna, Brett and Bryce ; grandchildren, Kayden and Holden; siblings, Mary Hoffman (Michael), Paul Nodine (Emily); and several nieces and nephews, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
A memorial service and burial will be held in Lockport, NY at a later date.
Contributions can be made in Nancy’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
