Nancy Hale Brown

In Loving Memory of Nancy Hale Brown, 01/17/1949 - 10/30/2025, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, devoted to her family and her church, left this world early Thursday morning. She is survived by Gary Edward Brown - Husband, Clete Edward Brown - Son (Angel Brown - wife), Grandchildren - Abby & Luke Brown; Gavin Slade Brown - Son (Lori Brown - wife), Grandchildren - Savannah Brown Nichols (Ashton Nichols - husband), Isaiah Brown, Haleigh Brown, & Emery Brown, Great-grandchildren - Roman Nichols, Reign Nichols, & Ryland Nichols; Jesse Randall Hale - Brother, (Marty Hale-wife), Wayne Atchinson - Brother-in-law, (Terrie Eubanks Atchinson, deceased, sister), and Georgia Hale - Sister-in-law, (Coy Wayne Hale - deceased, brother), and many nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
Nancy was a dedicated member of Eastern Valley Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama, where she and her husband of 55 years, Gary Brown, worshiped and demonstrated their faith in Jesus Christ, their Lord and Savior for 55 plus years. Nancy was born on January 17, 1949, to parents Gladys Olene Hale (Eubanks) and Jessie Rudolph Hale, in Hopewell, a small community off Sadlertown Road, Bessemer, Alabama. She attended Greenwood Elementary and Junior High School, and graduated from McAdory High School in 1967. Nancy would attend Livingston University in the fall of 1967, graduating in 1971 with a degree in Education. She later would earn her Masters Degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Alabama/Birmingham. She was a dedicated teacher for many years, as well as a published author.
Perhaps Nancy's most favorite and cherished time of year was Christmas, where she not only celebrated her religious faith, but also is most fondly remembered for her yearly family traditions of celebration and cheer, and for those forever-cherished Nutcrackers she gifted every child, every year. :)
Services will be held on Monday, November 3rd, at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation from 11:30am - 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 - 2:00, with graveside services at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Bessemer, Alabama.
